Churches Together
Tansley Methodist Church and Tansley Parish Church (Holy Trinity) have worked closely together for many years. This cooperation culminated in the signing of the Covenant between our two churches in 2015. What do we do together?
We serve one God, who we know through Jesus, and whose Spirit is with us. More and more we want to fulfil Jesus' prayer that his friends should be at one with each other so that the world may believe in a God who reconciles us to himself, unites us with one another and gives a shared mission of truth and love to the world.
- We meet at least twice a year to review the activities and worship in which we have shared since we last met and plan for the future. We also share our common concerns for the village and share any new ventures in which we are engaged. Our shared worship includes:
- Christmas Eve Services
- Renewal of our Covenant with God
- Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
- Christian Aid Service
- Good Friday Worship
- Worship outdoors
- Harvest Festivals
- Remembrance Sunday
- We also work together in
- Messy Church
- Creating warm space
- Christian Aid Week
- Annual Walk from Derby Cathedral
- Other organised events
